1968 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396

BODY-OFF RESTORATION, 138 VIN, A/C, PS

What a looker! This 1968 Chevelle SS has a very beautiful and bright Yellow paint that certainly stands out from all of the others. When I look down the sides it is absolutely straight and has excellent fit and finish. The paint is smooth and very glossy. Up front- the headlight bezels, grill and bumper have been replaced. All the stainless trim is polished like chrome. It has newer weather stripping and door seals. The black vinyl top is in excellent condition. It sits on a set of 15x8 Chevy Rally wheels with a set of 295/50/15 Mickey Thompsons on the rear and 15x7 - 245/60/15  on the front for that aggressive look that it deserves.

The undercarriage is very clean metal. The front suspension and steering has been rebuilt and detailed. The bottom of the motor is spotless and so is the Turbo 400 transmission. Some features include: front power disc brakes, new fuel & brake lines, new gas tank & straps, new sending unit, 12-bolt rear with 3:31 gears and F40 suspension, rear boxed in control arms with sway bar. It also has a 2.5” Pypes dual exhaust system that runs all the way out the back with the correct cowbell exhaust tips. The E-brake assembly is complete and working. The underside of this Chevelle is very impressive!

The interior is striking! Everything is like new. The seats have new upholstery and cushions. It has new carpet and a new headliner. Looking at the dash- it is in excellent condition, it has the optional roll tach and gauges which all work, heater and A/C controls slide with ease, retro AM/FM radio and factory SS steering wheel. All the courtesy lights work. It also offers aftermarket Chevelle SS floor mats and front and rear seatbelts.

The engine compartment is highly detailed with restored or new parts. It has a period-correct 396 ci/350 hp motor that has been completely rebuilt with a few performance upgrades: Pertronix HEI ignition, Hooker ceramic coated headers, correct factory chrome valve covers and air cleaner. Other features include: correct 4 barrel quadrajet carburetor with correct fuel line, remote power steering reservoir, Delco Moraine cadmium plated power brake booster with the correct proportioning valve, GM hoses with correct tower clamps, newer A/C components, correct spring type battery cables with the correct battery top and optional under hood lamp. The engine compartment is finished in gloss black. It is very clean and tidy!

The trunk is finished with a light coat of splatter paint. It comes complete with a trunk mat, spare tire, jack assembly and new weather stripping.

This car is as close as you can get to new. It drives great, looks awesome and sounds even better!
